The year began with an incredible display of light. I headed up the hills early to catch the sunrise over a fresh blanket of snow, looking out from Perseverance Hill toward the Beacon. I was struck by the way the winter sun turned the bracken into a sea of glowing orange, standing in sharp contrast to the cool, icy blues of the frozen ground.
